Adult Choir and Bells Practice Practice ‘Vacation’ December 12, 2018 to January 9, 2019 On December 2, 2018, the adult handbell group (B4) traveled to St. Jo, Texas, to share our gift of music with them. We enjoyed beautiful music, food, fellowship, and a collection (180 to be exact) of Nativity sets. During the rest of December, you will be delighted to hear Sadie Britt and Emerson Parr play (on December 16, 2018), and Saundra Pass and Jarae Scruggs play (on December 23, 2018). You will be hearing some very familiar Christmas tunes. The music ministries will take a short “vacation” from practicing on Wednesday nights beginning December 12. We will resume our regular practices in the New Year on January 9, 2019. Keepsake Christmas Wednesday, December 12, 2018 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Kidz 4 Christ will be celebrating Christmas with a Keepsake Christmas on December 12, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families, adults, and children are invited to participate as we hear from Mary, Joseph, one of the Shepherds’, and make a memorable Christmas craft. There will be cookies and hot chocolate after the event. This event is open to the community. Music, Soup & Desserts Sunday, December 9, 2018 11:00 a.m. On Sunday, December 9, 2018, the FUMC Bowie music department will be uniting their talents for the entire worship hour at 11:00 a.m. Enjoy wonderful music as the choir, adult handbells, and Children’s Chime Choir share their gift of music with you. Following the service, we will be serving delicious soups for our annual “Souper Sunday.” Everyone can enjoy a delicious meal for a donation. United Methodist Women Christmas Tuesday, December 4, 2018 6:00 p.m. United Methodist Women (UMW) will meet on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. We will be decorating and filling stockings for the Alzheimer Unit at Advanced Rehab. The stockings will be provided, so if you can bring items that can be hot glued to the stockings as decoration and items to fill the stockings. Suggested items to fill the stockings are body spray (like Bath & Body Works), Chapstick, lotion, non-slip socks, candy, Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Little Debbie oatmeal sandwich cookies, Donut Sticks, regular socks, shampoo, conditioner. We will also have a gift exchange. Bring a pair of Christmas socks stuffed with inexpensive items — candy, Chapstick, items from Dollar Tree, mints, etc. We are also asking everyone to bring a snack item to share.
